Although both results look bad we were holding our own in both games before disaster struck.
We conceded an early goal against Leicetser Outlaws, but hit back just 43 seconds later when good work behind the Outlaws net from Mark and Matti set Michael up for the equaliser. The Outlaws went ahead again shortly afterwards, but the game was evenly balanced when disaster struck midway through the second period.
Jukka was called for a penalty (and effectively a game dismissal) for holding his face mask on with a bit of parcel tape and shortly after Damian was driven into the boards by an Outlaws player and had to leave with a badly sprained ankle.
That left us with only 3 defenceman and a third goal for the Outlaws in the second period gave us too much of a mountain to climb.
We actually took the lead against Premier league Nottingham Rollersnakes when Matti intercepted a pass and fired it high past the 'Snakes keeper. They got one two minutes later, but the whole side defended well and Andrew was excellent in goal until a series of mistakes and bad breaks lead to Nottingham notching 4 goals in 5 minutes in the third period.
The Rollersnakes added two more in the final period as we pushed forward for the equaliser.
