Abstracts submitted for SAC-CASP6

The Origins of SAC-CASP:
Following suggestions raised at CASP4, an addendum meeting for students and post-docs was held immediately following CASP5 at the Asilomar Conference Center, December 5-6, 2002. The meeting featured a large number of short, informal talks and time for focused discussions. The meeting was very successful, participants particularly appreciated the chance to discuss details of methods and implementations more thoroughly than was possible at CASP.

What SAC-CASP6 will be:
SAC-CASP6 will be held in Gaeta and use the same conference facilities of CASP. It will take place one day before CASP6 (December 3rd 2004), unlike SAC-CASP 2002, which took place inmediately after CASP5.

As in CASP, there will be presentations and discussion forums. However, unlike CASP, participation will be restricted to just students, post-docs and technicians.

Implementation:
The plan is for SAC-CASP6 to last a day and a half, starting before CASP6 on December 3rd and ending immediately before CASP6 on December 4th. Since the SAC-CASP6 meeting will take place in the same hotel/venue as the main CASP meeting, SAC-CASP participants will need reservations for one additional night in the hotel. Food will also be provided by the same catering services as that for the CASP meeting.

Participants will be invited to submit an abstract containing an outline of the presentation (roughly 1000 words). Talks will be approximately 15-20 minutes long, and there will be ample time for questions. Up to 20 abstracts will be selected for presentation at the meeting (there were 17 presentations in 2002), the rest will be taken into consideration for the poster session. Abstract selection will be at the organisers' discretion.

Important Information for Registrants:

• SAC-CASP6 attendance is contingent on CASP6 attendance.
• SAC-CASP participants must also be registered with CASP6.
• Pre-registered SAC-CASP6 attendees will be selected from the final list of CASP6 attendees and limited to 75 people.
• Registration is now CLOSED.
• The registration fee will be the cost of one additional night's stay at CASP6.
• Abstract submission is not a requisite for registration at SAC-CASP6 (you can attend SAC-CASP even if you don't submit an abstract).
• No group registration is allowed (every participant has to submit their own registration).
• More than one abstract per group can be submitted (although we would prefer to have many different groups represented).
• It is not too late to e-mail in an abstract for a poster presentation. Send poster abstract to organizers listed below.

SAC-CASP6 Meeting Information:

• SAC-CASP6 attendees must begin to arrive on Friday, Dec. 3. Hotel Serapo cannot accept guests on Thursday, Dec.2.
• Hotel Check-in for SAC-CASP6 attendees begins on the morning of Friday, Dec. 3.
• The tentative SAC-CASP6 schedule begins at 2pm (14:00) on Friday, Dec. 3.
• Talks will last 20 minutes with 5 minutes for questions.
• Poster Session will be on the evening of Dec. 3rd.
• Travel from Rome (Roma Termini) by train to the Formia Station (6km from Gaeta) is 1-1.5 hrs.
• To get to Hotel from Formia Station you must take a taxi or bus.
