Conclusions
Obligatory intracellular organisms have proteins with smaller folding ability than their free-living relatives. This can be explained through reduced selective pressure due to small population size.
Genome size and GC content show a strong correlation. A mechanistic explanation of such correlation has been proposed.
The mutational bias is under genetic control. Selection for reduced genomes could explain why intracellular organisms have developed a strong AT mutational bias.
