Description: | Hyperthermophilic, sulfur-metabolizing organism. Cells are irregular
spheres with a glycoprotein envelope and monopolar flagella. They
grow between 60 and 95 degrees Celsius but their optimum is 83 degrees
Celsius. They can be either organoheterotrophic using a variety of
carbon and energy sources or they can also be lithoautotrophic using
hydrogen, thiosulphate and carbon dioxide.
