The Oral Cancer Gene Database (OrCGD) contains a broad range of data about the genes involved in oral cancer and their protein products. It is built on top of the Tumor Gene Database (TGDB) and shares many of its properties. The database focuses on oral cancer as well as premalignant oral lesions. It is possible to obtain a listing of the subset of tumor genes involved in oral cancer. All facts entered into OrCGD are reviewed by an editorial board to guarantee accuracy. Users of the OrCGDB also have access to facts entered into the TGDB or other associated gene databases. Improvements in TGDB software are immediately available in the OrCGD. The OrCGDB, like other members of the TGDB family offers both the benefits of sharing the resources of TGDB as well as the increased focus and topicality needed by its users.
